'Grabbed defeat from victory': Neville slams Klopp for 'demanding' Spurs replay

Last weekend, Gary Neville was as reasonable as we would expect from an impartial football pundit.

He questioned the red card for Curtis Jones in Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham before PGMOL's admission of mistake over Luis Diaz's goal made him mutter 'Oh no' audibly on air.

Now, however, he has changed his tune as he claimed that Jurgen Klopp made a mistake by demanding a replay of the game - which he actually didn't.

"Can’t believe how Liverpool have grabbed defeat from victory in their handling of this! They were wronged by a shocking mistake. End of!" Neville posted on X.

When asked why he suddenly changed his tone from the weekend, Neville replied: "Because of Liverpool's statement escalating it, mentioning integrity and exploring options. Now we’ve seen they want a replay! That's madness."

it does not look like the football expert listened to Klopp's press conference because in the same sentence, the boss admitted that the replay would never happen, so there would be little sense in making such a demand.
