'Not a young rabbit anymore': Jurgen Klopp claims time is right for Liverpool exit

Jurgen Klopp has spoken about his decision to leave Liverpool after this season at a press conference that was convened after the announcement.

"With all the responsibilities, you have to be on top of your game but I've been doing 24 years now," the boss said.

"When you've had the career I've had, it's impossible to start where I start and arrive at LFC but if you do it's because you invested everything.

"You realise yourself, you're not a young rabbit anymore and don't jump as high as you did.

"It was not that I thought about it on purpose, it just happened, then I started thinking about it and this club, with all the super things we have, this club needs a top manager.

"I told the club the decision and then my coaches. And now everyone knows it and everyone believes me [that I love the club]. I don't take it lightly, I am convinced it is right."

Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool after eight and a half years at Anfield. So far, the German has led the Reds to seven trophies, but they have a chance to win four more before Klopp's exit.
