'He could have had a hat-trick': Klopp on Salah's game against Brentford

Jurgen Klopp expressed his belief that Mohamed Salah could have notched up a hat-trick in his comeback game from injury during Liverpool's impressive 4-1 victory over Brentford.

Salah, who had been sidelined for a month due to a hamstring injury sustained at the Africa Cup of Nations, made an impactful return, contributing a goal and an assist as a substitute.

Despite his successful return, the 31-year-old missed two golden opportunities to score before finally finding the net, benefiting from Cody Gakpo's flick-on. Salah's overall contribution included setting up Alexis Mac Allister's goal, bringing his season tally to 19 goals and nine assists.

Quoted by Liverpool ECHO, Klopp said: "Not surprised about that (them all providing goal contributions). Mo played the first game in weeks."

"I think he could have had a hat-trick. The first one, Lucho kicks the ball against his right foot, the other one, Mo usually finishes that off. But the goal he scored was absolutely outstanding."

"They all play well, they are all good players. Cody’s goal was absolutely outstanding as well. That’s all cool. You can count the games coming up, it would be helpful if we had a bit more than one for each position."
