Amorim 'scores high' on internal Liverpool tests as his world-record compensation fee revealed

The Daily Mail report that Liverpool have Ruben Amorim and Roberto De Zerbi on their manager shortlist, alongside Xabi Alonso.

Liverpool would have to break world record to appoint Amorim, who is under contract with Sporting. The Reds would have to pay the Primeira Liga club £25m, £3.5m more than Chelsea paid to Brighton in compensation for Graham Potter.

The Portuguese tactician 'scored high' on Liverpool's internal stats-based tests which the club uses to determine suitable candidates.

The 39-year-old is described as a 'master communicator' and perfectly fits the profile of a manager the Reds are looking for. Liverpool want a young tactician who can develop at Anfield, has an attacking philosophy and a 'strong personality'.

It is noted that Xabi Alonso remains the preferred candidate but the Reds are looking at other options in case the Spaniard stays at Bayer 04 or goes to Bayern.
