"There was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atletico [in 2022]. Liverpool were always more determined and concrete to sign Luis [Diaz]," the Colombian's father has told Cadena SER.
"We haven't lost our hope yet. Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market," he added.
Is it really the right thing to say when a player is under long-term contract at a club like Liverpool? Luis should really be focused on doing his best with the Reds, especially ahead of the final stretch of the season.
Earlier, Diaz's father revealed his son is a life-long Barcelona supporter. However, the Catalans are surely not in a condition to afford the 27-year-old's £100m+ price tag.
Luis Diaz has scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 39 appearances for Liverpool this season.
