Ian Wright says Darwin Nunez did something 'unforgivable' in Liverpool's defeat to Palace

Liverpool lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at the weekend in a game which saw the Reds spurn numerous chances at goal.

One such chance was Darwin Nunez's shot from close range after the ball fell to him after a corner.

Nunez lashed at the ball on the turn.

Nunez's shot bounced off the keeper's knee, and away from the goal.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes Nunez should have done much better with the effort.

“Unforgivable for a centre-forward to be that close, and hit the ball that hard instead of placing it and finding the spot," said Wright.

"Yes [it’s like Chris Wood’s last week]. There’s a resignation to the fact that, oh I’ve scored.

“These are the moments you need to show composure, be calm in the box," he said.

"There’s something happening there in regards to them and the ruthless nature they should have, but haven’t got,” Wright summarised.
