The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Niko Kovač could succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
“There’s no truth to Liverpool links [that] emerged in the recent days. It’s not true,” the 52-year-old said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
The former Croatia and Bayern manager is currently a free agent, having been sacked by Wolfsburg in March. Perhaps Kovac himself was shocked to see his name linked with the Anfield job.
Romano added: "Ruben Amorim remains the frontrunner for Liverpool job, as things stand — nothing done yet."
