“As a player, all you can do or ask for is opportunity. All you can do is hope that when you get to 18 or 19, you’ve got a manager who’s ready to give you a chance, and I was fortunate to have that.
“He put his arm around me and guided me through it. Through the ups and downs, winning and losing, good games, bad games.”
Trent made his debut for Liverpool on 25 October 2016 and has never looked back since. The full-back has grown into one of the world's best players, making 303 appearances for the Reds so far.
Klopp is the only manager in the Englishman's senior career at Liverpool. The German signed for the Reds a year before Trent broke into the first team.
