'Before we changed, we gave them too many chances': Klopp on his substitutions vs Aston Villa

Jurgen Klopp brought on Szoboszlai, Jones, Gravenberch and Nunez with 15 minutes left in Liverpool's draw with Aston Villa.

At the time Liverpool were 3-1 up but by the end of the 90 minutes that lead disappeared.

Klopp explained his substitutions after the game, explaining that he could already see his side concede too many chances.

"Before we changed, we gave them too many chances," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"It was very intense for the boys. They created too much. They were too often in our box and we made the changes.

"Then we made a mistake. We shouldn't have passed the ball there. It happens but in that moment, it opens the door."
