Darwin Nunez names two places where he 'feels like at home' — not Liverpool

“I feel like my home is when I am in the national team,” Darwin Nunez told Canal 10, as quoted by the Athletic. “That’s when you get together with your people, you can talk to everyone, and you feel comfortable.

“Every time I go to the national team I feel like I am at home. I also like Almeria a lot. There I met the love of my life with whom we formed a very happy family. Every time I go to Almeria I am very happy too.”

The Uruguayan played for Almeria in Spain before making a move to Benfica. He joined Liverpool from the Portuguese side two years ago.

The striker scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists across all competitions this season. He has received criticism for wasting easy chances.

Darwin has been targeted by fans on social media, receiving a lot of abusive comments. He responded by deleting all Liverpool-related pictures from Instagram.
