Spotted: Arne Slot in Merseyside ahead of official Liverpool unveiling

Arne Slot is taking over from Jurgen Klopp as the new Liverpool manager and the Dutchman has already arrived in Merseyside.

He was photographed with chef Mark Birchall at the two Michelin-starred Moor Hall Restaurant near Ormskirk.

His appointment was announced less than 24 hours after Klopp's final game but the former boss already unofficially confirmed his arrival by leading a chant at Anfield.

Speaking to the Feyenoord media team around his departure Slot said: "I am already privileged but then I would be really very privileged and the fun or funny thing is that I succeed a coach [Klopp[, perhaps in terms of status, or maybe I am sure one who has reached much bigger status at the club where he has worked for the past nine years."
