Liverpool play behind closed doors friendly with Championship team – it ends in defeat

Liverpool have just completed a behind-closed-doors friendly with Championship side Preston North End.

In what can be considered Arne Slot's first match as Liverpool coach, it ended in a 1-0 defeat, despite Liverpool playing on their home turf at the AXA Training Centre.

"A youthful Liverpool beaten 1-0 by Preston in behind closed doors friendly at the AXA today. 25 players involved for the Reds," James Pearce reports.

Salah, Szoboszlai, Quansah, Tsimikas, Jones and Carvalho were the recognizable faces in the team that played the game.
