BBC: United refuse to meet Bruno Fernandes asking price, talks with Sporting stalled

According to BBC's Simon Stone, Man United's talks with Sporting Lisbon over Bruno Fernandes have stalled as the clubs cannot find an agreement over a fee.

As per the tier 1 source for the Red Devils, the Portuguese side are demanding £68 million for the 25-year-old and United are unwilling to meet the asking price. The Red Devils won't continue negotiations unless Sporting drop the fee.

Bruno, who has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, has been identified as a top priority target for the January transfer window. Still, United have not ruled out looking at alternative options this month.

When asked if Fernandes had played his last game for the club after Friday's defeat to Benfica, Sporting boss Silas replied as quoted by Record:

"I hope not. So far we don't know, nor does Bruno know. We will try to keep him for more games, but it's not up to us. The only wish I have is the best for him."
