RMC have confirmed Anthony Martial has rejected each contract approach from Manchester United although the club will persevere more in the coming weeks. For the record, France-based RMC have close ties with Martial's agent and were the first to report last summer that the attacker was considering his exit from Old Trafford.
Martial will turn 23 this December as he's spent over three years at the club since his transfer from AS Monaco back in 2015. His current agreement runs out next summer but the club may play it safe and trigger an automatic 12-month extension.
According to recent reports from various sources, notably from Evening Standard, the board felt secure about tying Martial and Shaw to new deals so they shifted their attention to David De Gea's prolongation. As it turns out, only Shaw did sign a new deal.
Back in June, Martial's agent Philippe Lamboley told RMC: ''We have not reached an agreement for several months. After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United. There are lots of factors, and right now it's too early to talk about them.
''I think that when United, the most powerful club in the world, do not find an agreement after eight months of negotiations then they do not really want to keep such an important player in their squad. That's why this decision has come - it's a well-thought-out decision. Everyone will have their opinion but I think he needs to resume his career. The time has come.''
Last summer, there were whispers linking the Frenchman to Bayern Munich, Juventus, Tottenham.
