No chance whatsoever: how pundits see United ahead of Manchester City clash

Paul Merson, Sky Sports: United 0-4 Manchester City

"I think the league will be won here as I expect City to win easily. United are just not very good. It was embarrassing against Everton and the players should be ashamed of themselves. They need to work hard this week, which will not be enough, but it is the least they can do. They should be honoured to play for that club and they embarrassed it."

Mark Lawrenson, BBCUnited 0-2 Manchester City

"I think United will play on the break, because that is almost the only way they can play at the moment. However, I don't see it working for them. This is a lot like a Champions League game in terms of the quality of the opposition for United and we saw in their home games against Paris St-Germain and Barcelona how they could not get the ball, and without it they could not do anything."

Michael Owen, MetroUnited 1-2 Manchester City

"City have only lost one of their last seven league visits to Old Trafford but United badly need to bounce back after their abject display at Goodison on Sunday. All at the club will be hurting after their 4-0 defeat at Everton but they have the ideal opportunity on Wednesday to put the record straight – they certainly cannot play as badly again."
