Hannibal sets the stage as United U21s demolish Salford City 6-0: Read match report from our user-admin Matt Koller

Manchester United's Under-21s thrashed Salford City 6-0 in Checkatrade Trophy clash on Wednesday with Hannibal Mejbri stealing the spotlight.

The Frenchman scored the Red Devils' first goal of the game with Arnau Puigmal, Mark Helm (x2), Charlie McCann and Anthony Elanga getting on scoresheet as well.

Gary Neville, a co-owner of the League Two side, commentated on the game but it's the young Red Devils who now go into the next round. Our user-admin Matt Koller watched it too and wrote an excellent match report.

"Great to see the U21s display a dominant performance start to finish. Barely a foot put wrong between them. Shows the strength we are reshaping our academy into with many promising prospects that are on the rise.

"Outstanding performances from Laird, Hannibal, Garner and Elanga. Also a shout out to Fish who was thrown in last minute with Bernard at CB and together looked pretty solid.

"Garner just looked so comfortable on the ball, his calmness and effortless control of the game was lovely to see. My favorite player of the night was Hannibal though. He was everywhere, he was aggressive, he was skillful. Looking like a very good purchase for United from last year. He will fill in nicely with Garner set to follow Levitt and Chong out on loan spells."
