- Amidst all the chaos on transfer deadline day, Man United also signed a young centre-back for their academy by bringing in French defender Willy Kambwala from FC Sochaux.
- The Red Devils are said to have paid £3.5m (via MEN) for the youngster after scouting him in the youth levels for a long time
- Kambwala is a confident young defender who has captained the France U17 national team in the past.
- He is already a formidable 6’4’' at 16 years of age and featured for Souchaux’s U19 team where he had to tussle against older players.
- Kambwala is a dominant defender who doesn’t shy away from making crunching tackles and is surprisingly calm in playing the ball out of defence.
- The 16-year-old will play for the United U18 side initially.
