Speaking ahead of the clash against Man United, RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann spoke about the prospect of stepping into Old Trafford and said: “I watched nearly every game of United 10 years ago, when I was a younger guy and a player.
“I've never played in Old Trafford or been there. It will be a great experience. I watched a lot of games in the Theatre of Dreams and of United on television. Now to be part of the stadium will be perfect.”
“Sir Alex Ferguson had a long and very successful time for United so it was also interesting to watch him, what he changed from one season to the next.”
Nagelsmann is definitely among the most promising young managers in world football right now and the impressive job he’s done with Leipzig – including guiding them to the Champions League semi-finals last season – is a reason why he’s wanted by many clubs.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will definitely have to be at his tactical best on Wednesday to get a win over Nagelsmann’s ruthless side and take a big step into securing qualification for the knockout rounds.
