Speaking in an interview with RTL, Paul Pogba said: "I had never known such a difficult period in my career. The France team is a breath of fresh air.
"This group is exceptional, it's magic. We are a family, we are all very close. We enjoyed the victory against Portugal. The team showed a lot of maturity."
Pogba remains a key player for the France national team despite falling down the pecking order at Manchester United this season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have settled on a midfield duo of Scott McTominay and Fred while Pogba has to make do with short spells off the bench.
Earlier this week, France head coach Didier Deschamps criticised the way the 27-year-old is treated at Old Trafford, claiming that the current situation 'isn't positive' and is 'mentally impacting' the player.
