Victor Lindelof backs Mason Greenwood to keep 'building and improving' after Liverpool heroics

After the 3-2 win to knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup, Victor Lindelof told MUTV: "I was very happy for him [Mason Greenwood], he’s a brilliant young player for him to get a goal and an assist is great for him, hopefully he can keep building and improving."

The teenager showed glimpses of returning to his best as he scored the equalising goal after Mohamed Salah's opener. Greenwood also provided the assist that led to Marcus Rashford's goal.

It was a splendid attacking display by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men following a goalless draw at Anfield in the Premier League last week.

When asked about Manchester United's performance, Lindelof added: "We've done it a couple of times and we did it again today, we know we can do it, we have belief and even if we concede a goal we’re very calm and try to be patient with the ball because we know we’ll get chances.

"That’s what happened today, we conceded but we kept on going."

Despite being tied at two goals each, the Red Devils remained calm under pressure. It was all worth it in the end, with Bruno Fernandes netting the match-winning free-kick.
