Speaking to TNT Sports, Marcos Rojo said: "I spoke with Edinson Cavani. I played a little with him. We were together for four or five months.
"Edinson is a great professional and if he reaches Argentine football, he would be a great star that would do Argentine football good."
Rojo officially left Manchester United in the January transfer window, signing a contract with Boca Juniors in an attempt to reboot his career in Argentine.
Cavani's father has recently spoken about his son's 'unhappiness' in England, stating that the striker would like to leave the club in the summer and play for Boca.
However, no decision on the Uruguayan's future has been made yet with Man United retaining on option of extending his contract. Cavani's entourage, meanwhile, want him to stay.
