Bruno Fernandes put in a solid second-half display to help Portugal seal a 1-0 win over Azerbaijan in their World Cup qualifiers game on Wednesday.

The Man United midfielder started the game from the bench and came on for Joao Moutinho in the second half.

While he didn’t play a role in directly scoring or creating chances, Bruno was an ever-bearing threat in the attack and kept the pressure pounded on the opposition.

Fernandes was able to get some much-needed rest by only playing half the game and is expected to start in Portugual’s next World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
