‘Amad has all the qualities to be a Ballon d’Or candidate in five years’: Man who discovered him for Atalanta

Speaking about the potential of Amad Diallo, former Italy goalkeeper Giovanni Galli said: “Amad is unique.

“But he must make himself stronger. At the same time, he must make sure he does not lose his speed, which is a quality that distinguishes him from others.

“In short, I think he has all the qualities to be a candidate for the Ballon d’Or in the next five years.”

Galli was incidentally the person who unearthed Amad when he was playing for amateur Italian club Boca Barco and also helped him earn a trial to Atalanta – who eventually signed him up. Diallo has already impressed for Man United – scoring a brilliant goal vs AC Milan in the Europa League and the club clearly has high hopes for him in the future.
