'My job is to give the forwards more freedom’: Fred explains his new role for Brazil

Speaking about the kind of role he plays for the Brazilian national team, Fred told Net Diario: “My role is primarily to run the midfield well, to give more freedom to the forwards.

“Here is the Selecao, Neymar for example, Richarlison, Everton Ribeiro, so that they have more freedom to play forward, to give them that freedom with the quality of the ball.”

Fred is currently playing in the Copa America with Brazil and started in their opening game against Venezuela – which they won 3-0. The Man United star had an impressive game for the Brazilian team in their opener and looks determined to be a regular starter as well as help them win the Copa America.
