'Anything can happen': Solskjaer gives update on United's further summer transfer plans

When asked about whether Man United will make more signings in this summer transfer window, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Anything from now is a bonus. I have to say that, with the two signings we’ve got, we’ve strengthened where we wanted to strengthen.

“Let’s see what happens. You never know in football. Anything can happen, ins and outs. Transfer-wise, we’ve done our business early. Raphaël [Varane] hasn’t done his medical yet but that should be okay. I’m very pleased with what we’ve done.

“That's been communication and dialogue, and a plan. We know that this is what we need, and it might take a little bit longer, which means there's no point signing someone for the sake of signing someone.”

The Red Devils have made 3 signings in the summer so far, adding Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton to their squad. However, further signings will reportedly be dependent on sales – which United are finding hard to do.

Solskjaer is said to be interested in signing a new right-back and midfielder before the end of the transfer window, but it looks unlikely that’ll happen unless United are able to sell unwanted players soon.
