Speaking to talkSPORT, Portugal defender Jose Fonte was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo being benched for Everton clash at Old Trafford last week.
The 36-year-old's international teammate replied: "100 percent it will annoy him. Ronaldo wants to play every single week. It doesn't matter if you think he's tired.
"Cristiano sees every game as an opportunity to score goals. He wants to win the Premier League title and he came to Manchester United to win [silverware]."
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to keep Ronaldo out of the starting XI last Saturday, with Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial playing at Old Trafford.
The 36-year-old forward replaced Martial in the second half against Everton but failed to influence the game as the Red Devils had to settle for a 1–1 draw.
