Newcastle United make contact with Man United over Lingard move (reliability: 5 stars)

Newcastle United have contacted Man United about the possibility of signing Jesse Lingard in January, claims Fabrizio Romano.

The Magpies haven’t yet made an official offer but just made an inquiry over his availability.

However, Newcastle aren’t the only club interested in Lingard and could face stiff competition for his signing.

Jesse could get a luxurious deal from the Magpies, who are reportedly ready to offer him as much as £150,000-a-week.

Lingard could, however, be ready to move abroad and has his eyes on a move to the Serie A next year.

The 28-year-old has only made 12 appearances for United and is yet to start a Premier League game this.
