'He should know when to pass': Man United fans annoyed with Greenwood's 'selfishness' in front of goal

Mason Greenwood produced a frustrating performance in Man United’s 1-0 win over West Ham United on Saturday.

The youngster got in a brilliant position after an early counter-attack in the fourth-minute.

But instead of passing to a free Cristiano Ronaldo in the box or Bruno Fernandes outside, he tried a shot that was blocked.

Greenwood’s passing in the final third remains underwhelming and fans believe he’s being too selfish at times he doesn’t need to be.

Here is how United fans reacted to his outing against West Ham:

@UnitedFaithfuls: “Greenwood is a clinical striker but his goalscoring instincts sometimes doesn't let him know when to lay a simple pass in front of goal. Sancho or Rashford would've passed it here because they're mainly creators but even at that, Greenwood should know when to pass.”

@MrFilipeOrlando: “Cavani simple pass wins the game. Greenwood would've cut it on his right and taken the shot. That's the difference between winning and losing games.”

@SaadAzmi3: “Its getting so predictible now... Greenwood will never pass to players in better positions.. will always try to cut inside and take an impossible shot on. Will take an unbelievably incompetent CB to concede a goal or even an assist from Greenwood if he continues to do this.”

@Cavxniball: “How long will we keep playing greenwood dawrg he needs benching till he learns how to pass.”

@KingRox01: “We desperately need Sancho in for Greenwood when he comes back imo, man's too selfish to be a winger.”
