Also on the coach if he starts slipping. Fans will recall this saga. TH should think broader outside the Ajax network as this tends to depict him as just single minded. Without FDJ his system should be adaptable to other decent players.
Yes Neves or Savic can be useful as well.

His philosophy about Ajex players and dutch players will not work for united,so many midfielders better than FDJ in a cheaper and less dramatic approach is out there and available..Neves and Savic can do 100% what FDJ can and and even more..to be sincere if ETH continues with this mentality it will definitely end in failure..just imagine Ajax warning him he can only have one of their player but why tf was ETH going for another Ajax player apart from Antony?..

I honestly share your thoughts and have been concerned in the last two weeks having seen other clubs closing deals but I have been careful not to start being negative.
You are very right. And this is the fear a few people have about TH and his lack of EPL experience. Mclaren and Phelan should be of great help to him.

He cannot keep on with this narrow mind else fans will get edgy. Now it's not the board causing delay but him. We cannot squander 80m on a player. Good players can become stars with a good coach which TH I believe is. So go for decent alternatives.

We have actually put ourselves in a very precarious situation with delays in wrapping up deals. If the Club fails with De Jong deal, the fee for every alternative will jump up cos we've opened ourselves up for other Clubs to see the desperation. Same goes for strikers and defenders we've been linked with.

Not fully aware of the control la Liga hold over transfer fees and their commission but if these figures are anywhere near the truth it's pointless us chasing a lost cause. Unless they let him go on a free. Surely our club with its tentacles ( hope that's spelt correctly) all over the globe cannot come up with a carbon copy player at a more reasonable fee .

What I read elsewhere on this is that La Liga has mandated Barca to set aside about 25% of whatever fee they get on players for cost or players wages because of their financial situation. So Barca want as high as possible to ensure that the 25% is significant.
