Man United fans have been left disappointed with the manner in which they conceded the equalizer in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.
Villa scored the second goal on the last kick of the game, with Callum Chambers converting from a corner.
It was a case of horrible set-piece defending, but David de Gea was too weak and couldn’t even come to punch the ball.
There were shouts of him being possibly fouled touted, but the Spaniard should’ve done better to claim or punch out the cross.
Some United fans have been left extremely disappointed with De Gea’s inability to deny that cross, as they reacted on Twitter.
Dale Grace: “De Gea is a huge problem. That ball should be the keeper's every single day of the week.”
Niv: “Come on man lmao this is weak goalkeeping.”
Uzair: “U can rate him only as a WC shot-stopper, his overall game is pathetic! I’ve accepted it, time you did too! The word on the street is De Gea cries to the ref after booting a goal kick out of play.”
Will Joy: “Why did he duck? Always the same with DDG. Always getting bullied in the air and we'll concede a fair few goals because of it this season.”
Chunky: “You could see that coming a mile away. We're crying out for a Goalkeeper whose prepared to put his body on the line and attack the ball on a corner and not duck out like de Gea just did. Pre-season or not.”
Alexei: “De Gea has been at the club for 11 years and has played under 6 managers. His weaknesses are the same as they were a decade ago, there’s no way he’s going to change now.”
Anuraag Kulkarni: “The worst part of De Gea's performance is that he'll not believe he's done anything wrong, intent-wise. He'll still come out & say stuff like ‘My game is good enough, I can play out from the back, I am an elite keeper’. That's why he just cannot be a part of this team long term.”
