When asked about his transfer planning with the Man United hierarchy and which positions he feels need strengthening, Erik ten Hag said: “We co-operate well and it’s to my satisfaction.
“It’s better to get the players in earlier because then you get them earlier in the process. In the departments of midfield and offence, you have seen when we have one injury then we have a problem. That’s clear. But I’m happy.”
With these comments, Ten Hag clearly hints that United desperately need to sign midfielders and at least one forward in the summer transfer window.
They seem to be trying just that, with John Murtough flying to Turin recently to close the Adrien Rabiot deal.
United are also still trying to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, while the possibility of signing Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid seems very real.
