Erik ten Hag's not-so-usual methods to motivate the Manchester United team before winning 2-1 over Liverpool have emerged.
According to the Daily Mirror's David McDonell, Ten Hag fired his players up by constantly reminding them of the damning criticism that's come our way.
The boss reportedly printed 'withering quotes from pundits' and stuck them in the dressing room as well as in Carrington.
Some of the quotes were the following: “United simply aren’t good enough”, “Liverpool to win 5-0 again”, “Can’t run”, “not a team” and “they could go down”.
Ten Hag also used our team's stats - including distance covered, passing percentages, clearances, ball recoveries - and compared them to other Premier League sides to pinpoint just how far behind we are.
The moves certainly paid off as United got into the right frame of mind to beat Liverpool and bag our first win of the season.
