Ten Hag provides injury update for Manchester derby & 3 more under-radar stories at Man United

Chelsea kick off yet to be confirmed

Premier League still cannot confirm the kick off time for Manchester United's trip to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, October 22 at Stamford Bridge.

'Ongoing conversations between the league, clubs, broadcaster and local authorities' have been cited as the reasons but matchgoers are getting frustrated.

Ten Hag sets Man United record

Ten Hag has become only the second Man United manager to win the Premier League Manager of the Month since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

The Dutchman, who swooped the award on Friday, follows former Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who claimed the honour back in January 2019.

Ten Hag provides injury update ahead of Manchester derby

Harry Maguire has been ruled out of the Man City game, and there are doubts over the fitness of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, Erik ten Hag told a press conference ahead of the game.

"We have injuries following [the international break]. Harry Maguire is injured and I think for the rest we have some doubts with Anthony Martial, but he was training all week with the group so I'm really happy with that situation. Marcus Rashford also joined training, so we are happy with that."

Guardiola plays down Haaland vs Martinez duel

"Erling is taller, that's for sure. I like when people underestimate players for the size,” Pep Guardiola said when asked about Haaland potentially facing Lisandro Martinez in the Manchester derby.

"[Martinez is] a fantastic player, aggressive, good build up. United paid this money, Erik [ten Hag] knows him. It's not the first time he's played against taller strikers, he handles it. [It’s] important to be intelligent, brave. The crosses, Erling is taller, we see what happens."
