In an interview with Sky Sports, Erik ten Hag was asked if Cristiano Ronaldo ever apologized to the Man United squad for walking out during the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
He said: “I've said enough about it. I've given enough explanation. We are happy he is there, He is an important squad player and he is our goalscorer.
“[On Thursday] he scored and I'm really happy with that because I know goalscorers need that every time. Hopefully he is building up and can be even more important.”
Ronaldo did put out a statement on the incident on Instagram, but many fans felt it wasn’t really a genuine apology for his actions in the Spurs game.
The Portuguese forward served a one-game punishment, but returned in the Sheriff Tiraspol game to get back to scoring ways. It remains to be seen if he starts against West Ham United on Sunday or not.
