Speaking to talkSPORT, Harry Maguire said: "I'm in good form, I'm really happy with how the group stages have gone. Actually in the last few games for Manchester United I've played well in them.
"I won both my last two games against West Ham and Aston Villa but I've found myself out of the team due to the centre-backs there playing well.
"They're excellent players so we have a good strength in depth in that central defence at my club but I'm going to fight to get back into the team because I don't like not playing."
Maguire remains a key player for England with Gareth Southgate's side now set to face reigning World Cup champions France in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
It remains to be seen what awaits the skipper back at Old Trafford with Erik ten Hag settling on Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as his preferred centre-back pairing.
