5 ins, 4 outs: Latest Man United transfer round-up ahead of January

Manchester United are not expected to be particularly active in the winter transfer window.

However, the Red Devils do have some pressing concerns to deal with once the window kicks off on January 1, 2023.

Here are some players who could join the club and some who could leave next month.

INS

United cannot end the window without signing a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. And at the moment, Gakpo is our best bet.

After a failed move last summer, the Dutch attacker has gone from strength to strength. He's already scored three goals in four World Cup games while being the chief source of goals for PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie.

What's more - PSV are open to selling him in the January window and it's imperative United do not miss out again.

Given United's lack of firepower up top, reports have linked the club with a loan move for Pulisic.

The versatile American is far from being a regular starter at Chelsea and he could be an interesting arrival on a temporary basis.

Estimated to cost a cool €100 million, Mudryk is another attacker clubs are keeping a close eye on.

Although United are in the race, Arsenal are widely expected to sign the Shakhtar Donetsk hitman.

A new right-back could be on the cards for United, with Fabrizio Romano naming Dumfries as one of the players we're interested in.

However, signing Dumfries from Inter Milan could be tough as he's one of their main players right now.

Another right-back on the list, Frimpong is expected to cost around £25 million and is believed to be 'keen' on a new challenge.

OUTS

It's clear the 22-year-old has no future at Old Trafford. It'd be best for the club to sell him and cut their losses rather than keep him around.

Much like Williams, Pellistri has struggled to establish himself at United despite starring for Uruguay.

His agent has also confirmed that the youngster's departure from the club is 'imminent'.

The right-back once again failed to make his mark in the 4-2 loss to Cadiz, which only propels him towards the exit door.

He's appeared just once in the Premier League all season and it's best for United to sell him - even if it's on a loss.

Although his contract will expire in the summer of 2023, United could make one last attempt to sell Jones.

The centre-back is not part of the first team under Erik ten Hag and could be allowed to join another club for a small fee.
