Amad Diallo grabbed his seventh goal for 

Carrick's side was on a four-game winning streak before Sunday's Wear-Tees derby defeat. Diallo sealed victory with the second goal of the game after Ross Stewart's strike. 

Patrick Roberts interchanged neatly with Amad down the right with the 20-year-old cutting inside and beating Zack Steffen.

The win moves Tony Mowbray's side to within one point of sixth-placed Boro.
