Erik ten Hag has settled on Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane as his preferred centre-back partnership.

Luke Shaw is preferred as a backup left-sided centre-back, so Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are effectively fighting it out to be a rotation option when Varane needs a rest.
