Keane: ‘The senior players were embarrassing. If I lost 7-0, I'd go into hiding for a few months’

Reacting to Man United’s 7-0 loss to Liverpool, Roy Keane told Sky Sports: “A shocking day. The goal just after half time, it was game over.

“If I got beat 6-0 or 7-0, I'd go into hiding. I'd go missing for a few months. It really is that embarrassing.

“The senior players were embarrassing, didn't show any leadership skills. The goals they gave away were shocking. A tough day for United. Thank god I've never been part of a team that's been beaten by that much playing for United."

If United had a leader like Keano out there today, they probably could’ve at least restricted the loss to a respectable scoreline.

The players let the fans and the manager down today and this will be a huge reality check ahead of what is assured to be a tough finish to the season.
