'It was in September': Lindelof reveals nasty injury he's been playing with all season long

 has revealed that he’s been playing with a broken toe since September for both 

Speaking to Aftonbladet about his issues, he said: “I broke my toe in September, and I felt it tightening out there. It was with the national team in September.

“I got a stamp so I broke it. It hurt for a while, I had to take some painkillers. I could play, but only had a size bigger on the shoe.”

Erik ten Hag still counts on the centre-back who has made only six appearances in the Premier League this season.

However, it looks like the 28-year-old is staying at Old Trafford at least until the summer.

Having played five out of six group stage games, there's a chance Lindelof will remain a regular starter in United's Europa League campaign which resumes with a visit to Barcelona on February 16.

"I think every teammate and everyone in the squad has been helping him as well and he's a fantastic player and he's been performing at a very high level before and with his national team, so I think that helps us.

"Since he's arrived at the club, I think he's been fantastic and his energy and passion for the game is really, really great and I think it's important for us as a team.

"Everything he does, it's always 100% and that's how it should be. I think he's been performing at a very high level and hopefully he can keep the level up."

Martinez has become a regular starter at Old Trafford soon after arriving from 

 last summer. He has already played in 21 games for United.

Lindelof could be described as one of the victims of the Argentine's transfer as he was demoted to a fourth-choice centre-back. To see him praising Martinez regardless is a positive reflection of the atmosphere inside the club under Erik ten Hag.

That's very risky, try taking treatment ASAP as it is better to be fully fit than playing with a broken toe.
