Speaking to CNN, Wayne Rooney said: "I think Manchester United are almost out of it [the Premier League title race] now – not fully – but almost.
"If you're asking me who I want to win it between Arsenal and Manchester City, then I hope Arsenal do win it. But I think City will pip them to it.
"They've won the league the last few years, they have a very experienced coach in winning titles in Pep Guardiola so I'm intrigued to see if Arsenal hold out."
Man United's hopes of winning a historic quadruple this season were earlier this month following a painful 7–0 defeat against Liverpool in the league at Anfield.
However, the Red Devils cans till win two more trophies this season under Erik ten Hag as they remain in the running for the FA Cup and the Europa League.
