'Light & day from the start of the year': United fans agree on Ten Hag's main issue in Spurs draw

Man United should've been cruising to a confident victory against Tottenham but instead contrived to lose a two-goal lead and only took a point.

Erik ten Hag tried to give the game a new impulse with subs - but that arguably only made matters worse. Fred, Anthony Martial, Tyrell Malacia and Wout Weghorst all showed why they were not regular starters in recent games.

Whether it's poor game management on Ten Hag's side or simply a lack of squad depth, it was definitely United's biggest issue in the game, as most fans on Twitter agreed.

Aidan Walsh: "It's worrying that not one of the substitutes improved us but instead had a negative impact. Embarrassing result after being 2-0 up"

MUFC Scoop: "Martial, Weghorst, Fred and Malacia all shocking since coming on"

James Robson: "United’s subs have been very poor. It’s a theme of the season that Ten Hag doesn’t have enough depth"

utdcynical: "Sometimes it feels like Ten Hag makes subs for the sake of it. Why would anyone in their right mind bring AWB off when DEFENDING A LEAD?"

Mark Goldbridge: "Every Sub has made us gradually worse. We played so well on the ball first half. Can't string together a sentence second half"

No Question About That: "Unforgivable how poor United have been this second half. Sloppy, lazy, tactically all over the place. Subs have made it worse. Has become a habit."

Nick: "The subs have all been awful and you can debate if they were the right ones, but the tone for this was set coming out of half-time - crowd was absolutely dead, Spurs were hardly battering us but we were so passive, sloppy, casual."

utdrobbo: "In-game management during the back stretch of the season has been horrendous. Light & day from the start of the year."
