'If he wasn't Dutch he wouldn't even be at the club': Man United fans react to Weghorst's performance at Spurs

Wout Weghorst made another substitute appearance for Manchester United on Thursday, coming off the bench against Tottenham.

The striker failed to make any sort of impact on the pitch, and, what is worse, it was after his substitution that Spurs scored an equaliser.

Man United fans are left scratching their heads as to why the 30-year-old keeps playing for the Red Devils despite not contributing to anything.

stevoc (via RedCafe): "Every manager has his blind spots but to so stubbornly continue with a tactic that clearly doesn't work is baffling. Tonight he actually preferred Weghorst at no.10 (a position he never played before joining Man United) over the likes of Sabitzer or Pellistri and keeping Bruno central."

DWelbz19: "He has the same nationality as ETH. If he wasn't Dutch he wouldn't even be at the club."

Doracle: "Weghorst coming on to play number 10 (again!) for Man United continues to be one of the most baffling things I've seen this season. He has no attributes to play that position at all. I also don't understand how someone as big as he is can lose every header. Surely some should just hit his head?"

Dex_Utd: "We must have absolute zero talent in the attacking positions in our youth team for Wout to keep getting sub appearances so easily."

Eddy_JukeZ: "It's a disgrace that Weghorst keeps getting minutes. We have options now and our manager keeps playing him. Maybe it's a sign our manager worryingly rates Weghorst."

SadlerMUFC: "I love his effort, but that's where it ends. This guy is not a Man United player. I'm not even sure if he's an EPL player. Other than his work ethic, I can't think of one thing that he does well. I like ETH but I'm not sure what he's seeing in him to keep playing him."
