Less than a year after he joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer, Jesse Lingard has now announced his departure.
He made just 20 appearances across competitions for the newly-promoted side this season.
Lingard eventually lost his place in the squad and Forest had no choice but to release him.
The former Manchester United man wrote on social media: "Thank you to everybody at Nottingham Forest, from the fans to all the backroom staff and, of course, the players.
"[It's] been a rollercoaster journey but we stuck together through thick and thin and achieved our goal. It's been a pleasure."
Some Forest fans were pretty miffed at Lingard's choice of words and here are some reactions from Instagram -
subh00man__: "Zero goals in the league."
Foresterrrr10: "Bro didn't contribute anything."
dannybroown90: "Looking forward to the six second video of you dancing as your season's highlights reel."
txg88cooper: "Bro, you stole a living."
ghx_887: "Been a pleasure, not playing and taking loads of money?"
