Revealed: how much Maguire demanded in Man United payoff before West Ham move broke down

Man United are not anticipating any exit for Harry Maguire in the summer window after his proposed move to West Ham United broke down, claims MEN.

The Englishman was never really interested in joining the Hammers and moving on from Old Trafford.

This is even though the Red Devils offered to give him a £6m pay-off in an effort to convince him to leave.

However, Maguire did not want to accept that and asked them to double it to £12m.

Ultimately, Man United failed to convince him to leave and saw the West Ham deal collapse.

Maguire remains a rotational option under Erik ten Hag and is the fifth-choice centre-back in the squad.

Surely they can pay out the contract THEY gave him. It is Harry's perogative to claim what he is entitled to. Stop acting like a martyr, you would do EXACTLY the same thing if the situation was the same for you in your job.

We made him e worlds most ex defender when we bought him & he has a duty of care to perform up to expectations .He has not done his part and altho e contract is still legal he has a moral obligation to ack tt his form has been absolutely atrocious. In fact his continued presence in e team is demoralising to e other members of e team and due to these reasons he has e choice to accept a lesser payout and start anew with a diff team thereby having regular game time and keeping his chances of representing England alive .If he insists on prioritising money over his England career it sends e wrong msg to those who still think tt he values being part of e national team .There has to be a certain give n take attitude and MU are offering this to him.MU can chose to place him in e reserved till his contract runs out.He has more to lose … It is what it is, take it or leave it

If your bosses decided you didn’t suit them and told you to take a 50% pay cut im sure you would accept it without any fuss. Perhaps he may love United and want to try to be the best he can for the best team. He can have bad games, but so do all players Get off his back, wish him well and support all your team if your a true fan.

Do United have a similar thing to PSG where unwanted players are sent to undergo their trainings. This club is a mess

Looks like the guy has more respect for money than for his career. Better move and salvage your career than rot on the bench...

only if you are a greedy prixk I bet you won't earn 6 million in career, I hope he doesn't get in the world Cup squad that's what a career is all about

£6 million for Maguire as a buyout? He’s not worth half of that. Forget about £12 million, you can go rot at home FYI your international career will be over. Get the hint your not need or wanted 👋👋

If he wasn't wanted they would pay him what is he due. They are twisting the narrative that this is all Harry's fault. It really isn't, Manchester United could give him the 12m if they really wanted him gone.

International career is for prestige, players make money from their team and image rights. A career without money is meaningless, so Maguire made a rational decision even if the fans are fuming about it.
