While some fans are already calling for Eric Ten Hag to be sacked, others believe the Dutchman needs more time and trust, just like Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp.
One of Man United fan pages on Facebook compared the three managers saying: "Klopp's first four seasons: 8th, 4th, 4th, 2nd & no trophies for 4 years.
"Arteta's first four seasons: 8th, 8th, 5th, 2nd and still hasn’t won the league. It takes time to build a successful team."
While some fans welcomed this comparison as an example of common sense, others insist Klopp's and Arteta's situations can't be compared. Plus there's another PL manager who didn't need that many seasons to set things right.
Manfred Kazia: "The amount of disrespect Ten Hag is getting is shocking!"
Abhishek Podder: "As far as ETH is concerned, he is a bit unlucky with players missing out on injuries, and if he can gel his team well, United might actually start winning tournaments again. Losing 3-1 to Brighton who at the moment are next to City is not to be ashamed of."
Ayongul Simon Akachukwu: "A team that wants to succeed doesn't compare failures, it considers success stories as the standard. What about Guardiola at Manchester City?"
Subhan Qureshi: "Klopp wasn't backed the way Ten Hag has. Also Klopp took over a team that didn't win anything for a long time and they were considered a mid-table club. We were not that bad."
Fernandi Gunawan: "See how they [Arsenal and Liverpool] played, really convincing. While for United it was always hard to win even with a single goal margin.
"With the relatively same players and many additions as ETH's choice, there's no excuse for him anymore. Who else to blame? Glazers? Or Ronaldo, Maguire, and De Gea?"
