Man United risk losing Wan-Bissaka in January — he could go to Africa

According to The Athletic, Manchester United may have to play without Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a specific period of time in the new year.

Don't be alarmed - he's neither looking to leave in January nor has there been any concrete interest.

However, the report claims Wan-Bissaka has been approached to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Africa Cup of Nations next year.

The Athletic understands the defender is considering the option, having been part of the England squad so far.

He's got 0 caps for them though with players like Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James competing for a starting spot.

An international switch would allow him to actually play on a bigger level. Although he was born in England, Wan-Bissaka is of Congolese descent.

If he accepts the offer, Man United would be without Wan-Bissaka from January 13 to February 11 - depending on how DR Congo perform in the big tournament hosted by the Ivory Coast.
