Sir Jim Ratcliffe is poised to acquire 25% of the ownership stake at Man United before the turn of 2023.
As per financial football expert Kieran Maguire, the British billionaire can help generate a £90m transfer budget for the Red Devils after acquiring the stake.
Sir Jim can apparently issue a new bunch of shares and provide a £90m boost to the club’s transfer budget in January.
This can apparently improve Man United’s position in the summer transfer market and allow them to make some signings if necessary.
Kieran Maguire told Football Insider: “If Jim Ratcliffe had secured investment in Man United, one of the things that was available to him was a fresh issue of shares.
“Under the current Premier League Financial Fair Play rules the first £90million of that can be added to FFP calculations. This would significantly enhance United’s ability to be competitive in the January market.”
