Sir Jim Ratcliffe feels Man United is 'overstaffed', set to fire employees

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are in for mass firings once Sir Jim Ratcliffe officially purchases a 25% stake in the club.

The INEOS founder will then hold control of football operations. One of his first steps is reportedly to trim the number of employees.

Ratcliffe feels Man United are 'overstaffed', with the Daily Mail adding there are over 1100 workers at present.

That's a steep rise from other Premier League big six clubs; Liverpool have 900 employees while Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have less than 800.

Most of the employees who could be fired are in the commercial and digital departments, which shows how Man United focused on the wrong areas.

Sir Jim reportedly wishes to correct that and drive the club in a proper direction, starting from the inside.
