Anthony Martial 'expected to leave', contract talks not progressing well (reliability: 5 stars)

Anthony Martial is 'expected to leave' Manchester United in 2024 as he nears the expiry of his contract, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Frenchman was engaged in talks over a new contract but Romano understands there is nothing concrete as they have not progressed well.

Even if Martial doesn't leave this month, he will be certain to leave in the summer on a free transfer.

The problem is there are no takers for Martial - and even if there are, no one would be willing to pay his huge salary and a sizeable transfer fee.

He does have a one-year extension on his contract but Man United are unlikely to activate it.
